Love these leashes - takes a while to get them but nothing works better for keeping a service dog nearby when you are in parking lots, stores, crowds etc. Then you can just take the nose slip off whenever you want.

I have a longer transitional leash (8ft), which for my puppy works better for her than the shorter leash. However, I love both, the transitional leash has been the solution to helping me walk with her without excessive pulling.

I have an adorable 12.5 lb Shitzu poodle mix who started to become leash aggressive at around 1 1/2 years old. Whenever we went out on a walk he would literally pull and bark and go into a frenzy even from across the street to try and reach the other dog. I tried 2 trainers but nothing really helped. A friend of mine recommended your leash and the difference was immediate! My dog is so well behaved now on walks and continues to improve even without the nose attachment now and it’s only been 3-4 weeks. My only regret is that I didn’t know about this sooner. I always dreamed of taking my pups out all the time. Different trails, breweries, and other dog friendly activities. However, we just never locked in leash skills throughout the first year-2 years of owning our two pups. Enough was enough. My last straw was when I boarded our dogs for a week. All the other dogs were getting their pictures taken on these nice long walks and our two guys were nowhere to be found. I was devastated, mad, and felt like I failed my guys. They were too much to handle on a leash and weren’t getting the exercise they deserved while boarding. I used a slip lead before but always was scared it would come off due to it not being sturdy at the base of their heads. My boarder recommended your company after I saw the one she was using. I ordered two of the sidekicks, one for each dog and the minute they arrived we got to work. We are now on our second week of working with them. The progress is INSANE. This tool turned me from terrified to not put a harness on in case they broke free, to barely having a grip on a lead. Individually we are seeing a ton of progress. This is the only leash that has finally allowed me to safely walk with my 8 month old Vizsla puppy, who was constantly pulling so hard that I couldn't manage her. She doesn't like the leash as much as I do (tries to paw it off constantly during the walk), but I'm hoping with time she will get used to it. I've already recommended the leash to the Mom of a litter mate of my pup, who was having the same problem.

My prior experience is with head collars that need to be specifically adjusted for each different dog. The Sidekick is great in that it self-adjusts on each new dog. I volunteer at an animal shelter and many of the dogs are "leash challenged". The Sidekick gets a real workout and is a great performer.

I purchased both the 1/2 inch and the 1/4 inch Sidekicks for my 50 lb Vizsla Daisy I prefer the 1/4 inch as it is easier for her to see over it This leash gives me excellent control with very little movement on my part

For us, the leash needs to be a bit longer. We have a Newfoundland whose head and neck are enormous- that means that by the time the loops go over her face and neck, we quite literally have less than 24” of leash left. The leash itself is very nice quality and seems durable. It’s just too short for our needs.

I heard about this product from another dog owner on a walk at a conservation area ! She had a big pup -about a year old - who appeared so easy to manage for them! I was struggling to get mine back onhis leash and walk without feeling like i was water skiing .. this has been an absolute game changer - instantly! Adopted a 4month old Belgian Malinois who was extremely reactive , to people, dogs, everything. Our trainer gave us this leash and it was life changing. We tried a prong collar, which was terrible. The K9 Lifeline allowed effective, non painful, consistent control. 1.5 years later we are still using it, although I am hoping we can “graduate” at some point, she is MUCH better ;)

I follow Koco Garcia on YouTube and she is always recommending these leads. I already have a slip lead so I didn't feel the need to get another on, however the more videos I watched the more I liked the design and features of this one compared to what I have. The adjustors that keeps the lead in place works very well, and stays in place a lot better and I love that there is a little saftey clip to fasten it to a collar. My pup can manage to get it off if I'm not paying attention so having that clip really gives me some peace of mind. The material is very soft, unlike my other lead, so I feel better about having it around his nose knowing it isn't as abrasive.

Love these leashes! My pups walk great for me but take advantage of my Dad who walks them for me when I’m unable to. Leashes are a lifesaver for sure!!

We bought this leash somewhat as a gamble. We tried several techniques and equipment and were mostly using the H-type nose/collar with moderate success. Though both the K9 and the H-type have appearance and the basic design in common, this is a much better tool. And we have had much-much better results.

This lead has done wonders to train my mini Goldendoodle to behave while walking..

I haven't had time to work with our miniature poodle on the leash. I have a few sidekicks and this was Bo's first day with the sidekick.

Haven't used this as much as I thought I would but it is a great product and works as described.

My dog hates a head halter but is strong and hard to control without one. I feel I have excellent control with the sidekick leash and he really respects it. The “backup” of having the slip choker kick in when pulling really helps. The one trouble I’m having is preventing it from slipping sideways and touching his lips. Maybe not tight enough?

I like the leash, but one of my dogs chewed on her's so I couldn't use the slide. I went to buy a new one but the price had doubled and the guaranty didn't apply. I bought a color I didn't want because it was marked down, but I will probably not buy again because of the price.

This product scarred my dogs face. It needs some sort of chafe protection for dogs who are serious about trying to pull. My dog walked well with this leash which was refreshing, but still occasionally lunged for squirrels or cats which then caused the scarring. I cannot recommend this product.

This is the ONLY leash I can use to control my Great Danes. I wish it came in different lengths because it is short for them. The only other improvement would be to add a link for a bag holder. Still, I am SO happy that they can no longer muscle me!

The leash material is too easily torn by a tooth. My doodle shredded the hand loop in seconds. This needs a tight yarn core but that wouldn’t work for the nose portion.

The heat shrink used at the joints, is easy for the dog to chew up. I would recommend that the rope be braided using a line eye-spliced to the ring. Thus, eliminating the heat shrink. Product was hard to find online to purchase with all the different names used :(. Shipping took way to long for an Item that was in stock.

Amazing. Took a second to figure out how to put it on but once I did, it’s been a cake walk ever since. My dogs are reactive to other dogs and pull very hard while walking. This instantly put that to a stop. I use an extra leash for back up but this leash alone has changed our walks for the best

Though our 14 week old Labrador doesn’t like it, it helps control her without choking her like a regular collar and leash. We work on it twice a day and we’re making slow and steady progress. I do highly recommend it but don’t be surprised if it is initially met with resistance. Keep persisting and being consistent in your training.

This leash was a game changer for my 7 month old Standard Schnauzer puppy, who gets very distracted outside by people, birds, bikes, even on a normal slip-lead. But when he's on the K9 Lifeline leash he is much calmer, more focused on me, and less anxious. Anyone with a leash-reactive dog should check this leash out!

This is such a great product. My puppy sheepadoodle kept pulling and biting the leash so it was difficult to walk her. This absolutely corrected the behavior and she now walks right next to me and will sit on command. It took a couple of times but now she’s used it and the walks are so much better. Thank you K9!

Tried the sidekick on my dog, immediate difference in the way he walks. He didn't pull and stood up straighter.

I have a rescue dog that isn't well behaved on lead, so my sister purchased this for me and the dog.  The lead does help me maintain control better when there's a small amount of misbehavior but it has to be on tight or he'll paw off the muzzle part.  One day a local bus went by and the dog was airborne, barking and lunging, despite having this lead on.  When I looked down I realized he had a rope burn under his chin and on his muzzle.  I sent pictures to the company, and felt their response (which was to acclimate the dog in the house - even though there are never indoor problems with him on a lead) didn't take the issue seriously.  No offer to send a refund to my sister.  IMHO it's simply not a good idea to use this lead if it has the potential for rope burns.  Therefore I think the product deserves a 1 star rating, which is what I'm giving it.

This is a fantastic transitional lead - and the piece that tightens the lead is quick and easy to use without the concern of it becoming loose over time (unlike the leather ones that I found on other transitional/slip leads).

This is brilliant! This saved me from the pulling.

After trying out different training tips to help my dog not pull on walks I finally decided to try the transitional leash. Omg it’s like magic!! It took a couple minutes for him to get use to it and it was like a new dog lol. We went on a walk and I hardly had to hold the leash because he wasn’t pulling. Then the big test came when he saw a dog across the street (normally he would get all worked up and start barking like crazy) he looked at him and didn’t even whimper I kept walking so he felt me directing him and he followed without me having to pull him. I was so happy! We can now go on walks without dread. Highly recommend. I have an Australian Sheppard so supper energetic. Oh and a bonus was that as soon as I place the leash on him it calms him, now I can easily groom him, apply his medicine to keep fleas away which before was a two person job now I can do by myself.
